A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to the recently announced UFC card on August 22 as Mariya Agapova faces Shana Dobson.
Combate first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Agapova (9-1-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having defeated Hannah Cifers by first round submission at UFC Fight Night: Eye vs. Calvillo. Agapova enters the bout riding a three fight winning streak and she hasn’t suffered a defeat in just about a year. Agapova competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 6, suffering a unanimous decision loss to Tracy Cortez.
Dobson (3-4-0) enters the contest on a three fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Lauren Mueller, Sabina Mazo and Priscila Cachoeira. Dobson hasn’t picked up a victory in over two years, with that last win coming over Ariel Beck at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale. Dobson has competed seven times as a professional MMA fighter and five of those bouts went the distance.
The recently announced UFC card takes place on Saturday, August 22 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
