A middleweight division attraction has been added to UFC 256 as #13 Omari Akhmedov faces #14 Marvin Vettori.

Akhmedov (20-5-1) has won three of his last four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Tim Boetsch, Zak Cummings and Ian Heinisch. Akhmedov has not picked up a win in almost a year, with his last victory coming at UFC 245 in December of 2019. Akhmedov has competed 26 times as a professional MMA fighter and 10 of those bouts went the distance.
Vettori (15-4-1) enters the contest riding a three-fight winning streak, picking up wins over Cezar Ferreira, Andrew Sanchez and Karl Roberson. Vettori hasn’t suffered a defeat in over two years, with that last loss coming to Israel Adesanya at UFC On Fox 29. Vettori has suffered all four of his professional MMA defeats by decision, while also picking up four wins by way of decision.
UFC 256 takes place on Saturday, December 12 from a location to be announced with Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
