Report: Maurice Greene Replaces Daniel Spitz At UFC Fight Night Wichita

Daniel Spitz has suffered an injury and has been pulled from UFC Fight Night Wichita according to Nolan King of Flo Combat, replacing him against Jeff Hughes is going to be Maurice Greene.

Hughes (10-1-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a two fight winning streak. Hughes earned a contract with the UFC after competing on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 14, defeating Josh Appelt by first round knockout. Hughes is also a former Legacy Fighting Alliance Heavyweight Champion, defeating Richard Odoms to win the gold at LFA 26.

Greene (6-2-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated Michel Batista by first round submission at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale. Greene and Hughes have met once before, with Hughes scoring a unanimous decision win in the main event of LFA 35. Greene has suffered two losses as a professional MMA fighter and both of them have come by way of decision.

UFC Fight Night Wichita takes place on Saturday, March 9 from the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas with Derrick Lewis and Junior Dos Santos headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
