This weekend's UFC Fight Night: Eye vs. Calvillo card has taken a hit because Melissa Gatto has been pulled from a preliminary card bout against Mariya Agapova.
Cageside Press first reported the news, citing visa issues for Gatto’s withdrawal from the card. Agapova is expected to remain on the card at this time, as UFC officials are seeking a replacement opponent for her to fight.
Agapova (8-1-0) is also going to be making her UFC debut in this encounter and does so on a two fight winning streak. Agapova competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 6, suffering a unanimous decision loss to Tracy Cortez. Agapova has competed a total of nine times as a professional MMA fighter and three of those bouts went the distance.
UFC Fight Night: Eye vs. Calvillo takes place on Saturday, June 13 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jessica Eye and Cynthia Calvillo headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
