A welterweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Island 6 as Mounir Lazzez faces David Zawada.

Lazzez (10-1-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having defeated Abdul Razak Alhassan by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs. Ige. Lazzez has previously challenged for the Brave CF welterweight title, losing to Eldar Eldarov at Brave CF 23. Lazzez has picked up eight of 10 wins by KO/TKO, with the other two coming by way of decision.
Zawada (17-5-0) has won just one of three in the UFC with that lone win coming over Abubakar Nurmagomedov at UFC Fight Night Moscow. Zawada is back in action for the first time in just about a year, as his last fight happened in November of 2019. Zawada has competed 22 times as a professional MMA fighter and just four of those bouts went the distance.
UFC Fight Island 6 is set for Saturday, October 17 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with Brian Ortega and Chan Sung Jung headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
