The UFC is expecting to run events in the state of Nevada starting on May 30 with UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Burns, but there must be Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) approval before events can move forward in the state.
Members of the commission are expected to meet on May 27 according to MMA Fighting and the protocols for running empty arena combat sports events are expected to be discussed.
Governor Steve Sisolak has already started reopening the state, as phase one of the reopening plans started on May 9. Sisolak?s second phase of the reopening plan has no start date at this time, but the state is collecting data to determine when that should happen.
?As stated last week, the Governor?s Office is working with the Local Empowerment Advisory Panel (LEAP), state agencies, local leaders, public health experts and the business community to continue developing guidelines for the potential Phase 2 reopening,? Gov. Sisolak?s office said in the statement to MMA Fighting. ?As a reminder, at this time, the State of Nevada is still evaluating the data since Phase 1 reopening began on May 9.?
Outside of May 30, another date requested by the UFC for an event is June 6 for UFC 250, which is headlined by Amanda Nunes and Felicia Spencer.
