A bout for the UFC Women’s Flyweight Title is possibly going to be headlining the UFC On Fox 30 card according to Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting as Nicco Montano defends against #1 Valentina Shevchenko.
Montano (4-2-0) would be making the first defense of her championship, which the fighter won by defeating Roxanne Modafferi at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale. Montano is also a former King Of The Cage Women’s Flyweight Champion, defeating Jamie Milanowski to win the gold in October of 2016. Montano would also be competing in her fourth straight title bout, but this would be the first time the champion has defended a belt.
Shevchenko (15-3-0) has been undefeated since dropping to the flyweight division, as she defeated Priscila Cachoeira at UFC Fight Night Belem. Shevchenko has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title, losing to current champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 215. Shevchenko has previously headlined two other “UFC On Fox” cards, defeating Holly Holm at UFC on Fox 20 and defeating Julianna Pena at UFC On Fox 23.
UFC On Fox 30 takes place on Saturday, July 28 from the Scotiabank Saddledome in calgary, Alberta, Canada with no main event official at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
