Report: Paul Felder Off Fight Island Shows Due To Potential Coronavirus Exposure

The UFC debut this weekend on Fight Island, which is going to be the home for the next four UFC cards, beginning with UFC 251 and ending with UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs. Till.

Paul Felder was expected to be at the commentary booth for all four events, but former UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping says Felder has been removed from those duties after potentially being exposed to someone who had the coronavirus.

“Paul Felder, poor guy, he was sat next to Din Thomas on the flight, so he passed his test, but they’re erring on the side of caution and I think he’s gonna be quarantined for 14 fu**king days,” Bisping said on Believe You Me (via Alexander K. Lee of MMA Fighting).

Din Thomas did confirm on Instagram that he tested positive for the coronavirus, but Felder has tested negative thus far.

Bisping revealed that if Felder cannot commentate on any of the Fight Island cards, those additional duties will fall on his shoulders.

“I get his work,” Bisping said. “I get to stay a little bit longer now commentating fights, I’m sorry Paul. But I’m not that sorry because I will be taking your cash, baby boy. I’m joking, I’m joking, I wish him the best. I’m not that sorry. I am sorry. I’m kidding, I’m kidding, but I’m now doing three of the four events. Before I was just commentating two, now I’m commentating three, so I’m gonna be here a little bit longer.”

Felder, depending on future coronavirus test results, may be able to commentate on the final two Fight Island cards.
