Report: Restraining Order Filed Against BJ Penn, Mother Of His Children Alleges Physical & Sexual Abuse

Former two division UFC champion BJ Penn returns to action at UFC 237, facing Clay Guida in a lightweight division affair.

Shealen Uaiwa, who is the mother of Penn’s two children, has filed a restraining order against the fighter according to MMA Junkie. The first restraining order was filed in October of 2018, but was extended this past February to October 8 of 2021 after a hearing took place.

Uaiwa alleges that Penn had abused and menaced her in front of their children and her family, while Penn also threatened to kill members of Uaiwa’s family. Uaiwa also said that the majority of the incidents filed in the order took place in the last three years, but more situations took place during the course of their relationship.

The mother of Penn’s children also said that she previously didn’t report the UFC star “because of his name, reputation, the control he has had over my life and I was scared.”

“I feel fearful for my safety and my children’s (sic) life, and for the influence he has over my children,” Uaiwa wrote in the restraining order.

According to the restraining order, an incident occurred between Penn and Uaiwa’s mother, where the UFC star threatened to kill her:

“(Penn) came up to the car threatening my mother that he will kick her dumb (expletive) ass out of her house, he was harashing (sic) me and my mother with verbal abuse, calling us (expletive), manipulators, stealers. I was trying to get out of the driveway and he was making it hard like he wanted to attack me and my mom through the window. My children witnessed this incident.”

Another incident reveals that Penn had used cocaine and even spilled some of the illegal drug on her oldest daughter:

“I woke up one night to him scared because he got cocaine on my oldest daughter. He was freaking out and he wanted to commit suicide.”

“Him and his friends did cocaine in the bathroom all night, while me and my children were in the room and his niece and aunty were in the living room.”

Penn had allegedly attacked Uaiwa on the night of his UFC Hall Of Fame induction, plus Penn allegedly smashed her cell phone and issued verbal threats.

It should be noted that Penn has not been arrested or charged with any crimes at this time.
