Report: Ricardo Lamas Faces Darren Elkins At UFC Fight Night Buenos Aires

A featherweight division attraction is the latest addition to UFC Fight Night Buenos Aires according to MMA Junkie as #12 Ricardo Lamas faces #13 Darren Elkins.

Lamas (18-7-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight losing streak, having dropped bouts to the duo of Josh Emmett and Mirsad Bektic. Lamas has previously challenged for the UFC Featherweight Title, losing to then champion Jose Aldo at UFC 169. Lamas hasn’t picked up a victory in well over a year, with that last win coming over Jason Knight at UFC 214.

Elkins (24-6-0) has won six of his last seven bouts under the UFC banner, but is coming off of a loss to Alexander Volkanovski at UFC Fight Night Boise. Elkins has competed a total of thirty times as a professional MMA fighter and half of those bouts have gone to the judges scorecards. Elkins has suffered five losses while competing in the UFC and three of those defeats came to fighters currently ranked the the UFC Featherweight Division top fifteen.

UFC Fight Night Buenos Aires takes place on Saturday, November 17 from the Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina with Neil Magny and Santiago Ponzinibbio headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
