A bantamweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 225 according to MMA Junkie as Ricky Bandejas is going to be in action against Ahmet Kayretli.
Bandejas (11-3-0) will enter the contest while in the midst of a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Juan Archuleta and Patrick Mix. Bandejas hasn’t picked up a victory in just about a year, with that last win coming against James Gallagher at Bellator 204. Bandejas is a former Cage Fury Fighting Championship Bantamweight Champion, defeating Nick Mamalis at CFFC 69 to claim the gold.
Kayretli (9-3-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and the fighter does so having won three of the last four fights. Kayretli has spent the last year-plus competing in the Legacy Fighting Alliance, picking up a 3-1-0 record in the promotion. Kayretli has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter and all three of those defeats came by way of submission.
Bellator 225 takes place on Saturday, August 24 from the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut with Matt Mitrione and Sergei Kharitonov headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
