Report: Rory MacDonald vs. Douglas Lima II Headlines Bellator 232

The Bellator Welterweight World Grand Prix will come to an end at Bellator 232 according to MMA Fighting as Rory MacDonald defends the Bellator Welterweight Championship against Douglas Lima in the main event.

MacDonald (21-5-1) is going to be making the third defense of his championship, last defending it against Neiman Gracie at Bellator 222. MacDonald advanced to the finals of the welterweight grand prix with a draw over Jon Fitch and a victory over the aforementioned Gracie. MacDonald defeated Lima in their first encounter at Bellator 192, with that win coming by way of unanimous decision.

Lima (31-7-0) punched his ticket to the finals of the welterweight grand prix with victories over Andrey Koreshkov and Michael Page. Lima is a former Bellator Welterweight Champion, defeating the aforementioned Koreshkov in their second meeting at Bellator 164 to claim the gold. Lima has been undefeated since the first encounter with MacDonald, earning an overall record of 2-0-0. 

Bellator 232 takes place on Saturday, October 26 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Rory MacDonald and Douglas Lima headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
