A women’s flyweight division rematch has been added to a yet to be announced UFC card on September 12 as #7 Roxanne Modafferi faces #9 Andrea Lee.
MMA Junkie first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Modafferi (24-17-0) won the first meeting between herself and Lee, which came at Invicta FC 10 in December of 2014. Modafferi has rotated wins and losses during her second UFC run, with the latest bout being a unanimous decision loss to Lauren Murphy at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Volkov. Modafferi has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Flyweight Title, losing to Nicco Montano at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale.
Lee (11-4-0) enters the contest riding a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Joanne Calderwood and the aforementioned Murphy. Lee has seen her last five professional MMA bouts go the distance and it has been almost three years since the fighter got a finish. Lee has won nine of twelve since the first fight with Modafferi, with wins coming in Invicta FC, LFA and the UFC.
The yet to be announced UFC card takes place on Saturday, September 12 from a location to be announced and with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
