Report: Roy Nelson Faces Sergei Kharitonov At Bellator 207

A heavyweight division attraction has been added to the Bellator 207 card according to MMA Junkie as Roy Nelson is going to be in action against Sergei Kharitonov.

Nelson (23-15-0) was participant in the Bellator MMA Heavyweight World Grand Prix, losing in the opening round to Matt Mitrione. Nelson has already picked up a single victory in Bellator MMA competition and that came against Javy Ayala at Bellator 183. Nelson spent almost eight years competing in the UFC and the heavyweight picked up a total of nine wins in the promotion.

Kharitonov (27-6-0-1NC) has won just one of two under the Bellator MMA banner, with that lone win coming over UFC veteran Chase Gormley at Bellator 175. Kharitonov returns to the promotion for the first time in over a year, with his last Bellator MMA bout happening in March of 2017. Kharitonov hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost two years, with his latest loss coming in November of 2016.

Bellator 207 takes place on Friday, October 12 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Matt Mitrione and Ryan Bader headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
