A welterweight division attraction has been added to a May One Championship event according to MMA Junkie as Sage Northcutt is going to be in action against Cosmo Alexandre.
Northcutt (11-2-0) is going to be making his One Championship debut in this encounter and does so on the strength of a three fight winning streak. Northcutt has suffered two defeats as a professional MMA fighter, with those coming during UFC competition to Mickey Gall and Bryan Barberena. Northcutt will also be competing outside of the UFC auspices for the first time in over three years, having previously competed in the Legacy FC promotion before coming to the UFC.
Alexandre (7-1-0) is also going to be making his One Championship debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a seven fight winning streak. Alexandre is also going to be returning to action for the first time in over two years, as his last bout took place in September of 2016. Alexandre also had an extended run in Bellator MMA, picking up victories in five of six in the promotion.
The yet to be announced One Championship event takes place on Friday, May 17 from a location to be announced in Singapore with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on Bleacher Report Live.
