A welterweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale according to Sub-Zero MMA as Takashi Sato is in action against Ben Saunders.
Sato (14-2-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so having won six of his last seven bouts. Sato has previously challenged for the Pancrase Welterweight Title, losing to Glaico Franca by fourth round submission at Pancrase 297. Sato has seen just two of his sixteen bouts go the distance and Sato picked up wins in both of those encounters.
Saunders (22-11-2) is in the midst of his third run with the UFC and holds an overall record of 9-8-0 in the promotion. Saunders has won just one of his last five under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Jake Ellenberger at UFC Fight Night Utica. Saunders has suffered eleven losses as a professional MMA fighter and seven of those defeats came by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale takes place on Saturday, April 27 from the BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with Yoel Romero and Ronaldo Souza headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
