Thiago Santos will look to bounce back from his loss to Glover Teixeira in a significant light heavyweight match-up against Aleksandar Rakic.
Santos and Rakic are on track to fight at a UFC event on March 6. The fight was first reported by ESPN and subsequently verified by MMA Fighting.The promotion has yet to announce a location or main event for the card.
Santos (21-8) is on a two-fight skid after losing to Teixeira via third-round rear-naked choke. Prior to that, he lost a close split decision to Jon Jones for the UFC light heavyweight title. He was on a four-fight winning streak prior to that with three finishes, including a TKO win over current champion Jan Blachowicz.
Rakic (13-2) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Anthony Smith but lost to Volkan Oezdemir in the fight before that. Rakic has finished the likes of Jimi Manuwa and Devin Clark.
