A last second move has been made for tonight?s Bellator 225 card as Timothy Johnson will replace Javy Ayala against former Bellator Heavyweight Champion Vitaly Minakov.
Bellator MMA officials issued the following statement to MMA Junkie on the matter:
?(Ayala) was removed from the bout on the advice of the Connecticut Boxing Commission.?
There has been no official reason given at this time as to why Ayala was removed from tonight?s card.
Johnson was originally scheduled to face fellow UFC veteran Azunna Anyanwu on tonight?s card, but Anyanwu has been removed from the event after the changes were made.
Anyanwu commented on the matter via Twitter:
Bellator 225 takes place tonight from the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut with Matt Mitrione and Sergei Kharitonov headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
