Report: Trevin Jones Replaces Mark Striegl At UFC Fight Night: Munhoz vs. Edgar

Mark Striegl has been pulled from UFC Fight Night: Munhoz vs. Edgar, replacing him against Timur Valiev is Trevin Jones.

MMA Junkie first reported the Striegl withdrawal, while Igor Lazorin first reported Jones as the replacement fighter.

Valiev (16-2-0) will make his UFC debut on the strength of a six-fight winning streak. Valiev won eight of nine in the WSOF/PFL with notable wins coming over Ed West, Chris GutierrezJosenaldo Silva and Bekbulat Magomedov. Valiev has picked up 16 wins as a professional MMA fighter. Nine of them came by way of decision.

Jones (12-6-0) is also making his UFC debut in this bout and the fighter does so on the strength of a two-fight winning streak. Jones is also competing for the first time in over a year, as his last professional MMA fight took place on May of 2019. Jones has competed 18 times as a pro MMA fighter and 11 of those bouts went the distance.

UFC Fight Night: Munhoz vs. Edgar takes place on Saturday, August 22 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pedro Munhoz vs. Frankie Edgar headlines the card. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
