Daniel Rodriguez and Dwight Grant suddenly found themselves without opponents on Friday, so they will simply fight each other on Saturday's UFC Fight Night: Munhoz vs. Edgar card.
Rodriguez was initially expected to fight Takashi Sato on the main card; meanwhile, Grant was booked against Calen Born on the prelims. Sato pulled out after successfully weighing in on Friday, and Born never even hit the scales. Since both Rodriguez and Grant compete at welterweight, they have reportedly agreed to fight each other, according to Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA.
MMA Junkie first reported the canceled fights. The publication revealed that Sato was pulled from the card because the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) refused to let him compete for undisclosed reasons.
UFC Fight Night: Munhoz vs. Edgar takes place tomorrow night from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pedro Munhoz and Frankie Edgar will headline. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
