Report: Tywan Claxton Faces Cris Williams At Bellator 204


A featherweight division attraction has been added to the upcoming Bellator 204 card according to MMA Junkie as Tywan Claxton is in action against Cris Williams.

Claxton (2-0-0) has spent his entire professional MMA career competing in Bellator MMA, defeating the duo of Jonny Bonilla-Bowman and Jose Antonio Perez. Claxton has no amateur MMA experience to speak of, meaning the fighters previous two pro MMA bouts are his overall MMA experience. Claxton finished both of his previous opponents by KO/TKO and none of his bouts have gone past the second round.

Williams (3-1-0) has won just one of two under the Bellator MMA banner, defeating Thomas Lopez and suffering a defeat to Daniel Carey. Williams made his professional MMA debut last year and won all three bouts the fighter fought in during that year. Williams also went undefeated as an amateur MMA fighter, with four of those five fights taking place in the Full Contact Fighting Federation promotion.

Bellator 204 takes place on Friday, August 17 from the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with Darrion Caldwell and Noad Lahat headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
