MMA fans were treated to another Saturday Night of MMA action this past weekend with UFC Fight Night: Eye vs. Calvillo, which saw Cynthia Calvillo score a unanimous decision win over Jessica Eye in the main event.
The event turned out to be a huge success for both the UFC and ESPN, as the event came in at #1 in the cable TV ratings according to MMA Fighting. The six fight main card averaged 908,000 viewers and a .33 rating, with the rating being four points higher than the second place show for Saturday Night. Other bouts on that main card saw Marvin Vettori defeat Karl Roberson, Charles Rosa defeat Kevin Aguilar, Andre Fili defeat Charles Jourdain, Jordan Espinosa defeat Mark De La Rosa and Mariya Agapova defeat Hannah Cifers.
A four fight preliminary card also aired live on ESPN, with Merab Dvalishvili and Gustavo Lopez in the featured spot, and that brought in an average of 551,000 viewers. Other fights on the preliminary card saw Julia Avila defeat Gina Mazany, Tyson Nam defeat Zarrukh Adashev and Christian Aguilera defeat Anthony Ivy.
Up next for the UFC is UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Volkov, which is headlined by Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov, will air live this Saturday Night on ESPN.
