Report: Vincent Cachero Replaces Timur Valiev At UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Shahbazyan

Timur Valiev has been pulled from UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Shahnazyan, replacing him against Jamall Emmers is Vincent Cachero.

MMA Junkie first reported the news, although a reason for Valiev’s withdrawal isn’t known at this time.

Emmers (17-5-0) is winless thus far under the UFC banner, having dropped a bout to Giga Chikadze at UFC 248. Emmers also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 11, suffering a second round knockout loss to Julian Erosa. Emmers previously challenged for the RFA Bantamweight Title, losing to then champion Thiago Moises at RFA 38.

Cachero (7-2-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and the fighter does so have won just one of his last three fights. Cachero has had an extended run in the Legacy Fighting Alliance, winning five of seven in the promotion. Cachero also won four fights as an amateur MMA competitor, with all of those wins coming by way of decision.

UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Shahbazyan takes place on Saturday, August 1 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Derek Brunson and Edmen Shahbazyan headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
