Report: White House UFC Event Slated For June 2026
A new report states that the upcoming UFC event at the White House will no longer occur on the 250th Independence Day. Instead, it will take place in June 2026.
On July 4, 2024, a UFC representative confirmed that the company will hold an event at the White House during the 2026 Independence Day celebrations. The event will mark the 250th anniversary of the United States.
Although plans for the event remain in place, a new report from The Wall Street Journal states it is now scheduled for June 2026 instead of on Independence Day itself. The change is reportedly due to the number of events planned to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. There are also plans for the UFC to have a significant presence in the nation’s capital ahead of the event. There will reportedly be several days of fan activities in the National Mall, including autograph sessions and punching bags for attendees and tourists to test their skills.
Those familiar with the discussions indicate that fighter weigh-ins and a press conference are planned for the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. However, it’s noted these plans are still in early development and could change in the months ahead.
According to the report, President Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, is set to be involved in planning the event. She is a UFC fan, said to be close to Dana White, and practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Other ideas for the event include UFC fighters warming up at the White House. Initially, there was a plan for them to emerge from the Oval Office and enter a Rose Garden-placed Octagon. However, Trump and others want a larger event with more spectators, so it will now take place on the South Lawn.
