Representative Says BJ Penn Didn’t Instigate Recent Brawl

Former two division UFC champion BJ Penn was recently involved in another bar room brawl, which saw the UFC star get knocked out after eating a two punch combination from an unnamed bar patron.

Gary Levitt, a representative for the Penn Family, says that the UFC star claims he didn’t instigate the brawl.

“I spoke to B.J., and B.J.’s like, ‘No, I did nothing,'” Levitt said to MMA Junkie.

There were no arrested made at this time, but two separate videos were obtained by TMZ Sports, with one showing Penn beating up the unnamed patron and the other showing Penn getting knocked out.

Levitt also says that Penn claims that the unnamed bar patron threw the first punch and there are several witnesses that can prove it.

“He said the guy punched him, and many, many people saw it, and (the guy) punched him again, and he went, ‘Stop, what are you doing?'” Levitt said. “And he said (the man) must have punched him at least four times, and some people are saying it was more like seven or eight times. B.J. did not do anything, meaning (he) didn’t fight back. He was just backing up and saying, ‘Hey.'”

Penn is expected to return later this year against Nik Lentz, it is unknown if the bar room brawl will delay that eventual Octagon return.
