Ronaldo Souza Couldn’t Execute Gameplan At UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale

Ronaldo Souza competed in the main event of UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale, suffering a unanimous decision loss to Jack Hermansson.

One huge reason the fighter believes that a defeat was suffered was because he couldn’t execute the gameplan during the fight.

“I’m sad, because I did a great training camp for this fight,” Souza said after the event (via Matt Erickson & Fernanda Prates of MMA Junkie). “I don’t feel tired. But I can’t put my game on in the octagon. I’m bad right now.”

Souza has rotated wins and losses in his last six UFC bouts and hasn’t put a win streak of any kind together since 2016.

A defeated Souza doesn’t have a future plan at the moment, but would like to spend time with family and friends before making any decisions.

“I don’t have plan right now,” Souza said. “I come back to my home. Take a vacation with my family. Tomorrow, I’m going out with my kids. I don’t know. I need back with my family and that’s it.”

The fighter said a middleweight title shot would’ve been his with a victory, but that promise won’t be kept now after how things played out in Fort Lauderdale.
