Rory MacDonald And Jon Fitch Go To Majority Draw In Bellator 220 Title And Tournament Fight

MMA

Bellator put as much on the line as they could Saturday at Bellator 220. The Welterweight Title and the semifinal spot in the Welterweight GP Tournament.

Going head-to-head with UFC Fort Lauderdale, Bellator 220 boasted two big title fights, but the main event of Jon Fitch vs. 170 pound Champion Rory MacDonald took top billing. The fight wasn't exactly an exciting one, but was a vintage Jon Fitch performance. A vintage Jon Fitch performance led to a majority draw.

You may ask what that means for the tournament. MacDonald successfully defended his championship and as the rules of the tournament. MacDonald admitted that Saturday wasn't his best performance and he hesitated. He stated that he didn't have the same desire to hurt people because of the Lord.

MacDonald goes on to defend the title in the tournament semifinals against Neiman Gracie in June. The two squared off in the cage after the bout.
