Scott Coker Says Next Welterweight Title Shot Could Go To Lorenz Larkin

MMA

Bellator MMA Welterweight Champion Rory MacDonald defends the gold against Douglas Lima in the main event of Bellator 232, which also serves as the finals of the Bellator Welterweight World Grand Prix.

Scott Coker says that the next shot at the welterweight title could go to UFC veteran Lorenz Larkin.

?I mean, that?s an easy one,? Coker said at a recent media event (via Nolan King & Matt Erickson of MMA Junkie). ?I think Lorenz Larkin is a clear choice after beating (Andrey) Koreshkov the way he did. That was an amazing fight. So much fun to watch. I think that that?s the fight at some point in the future, because who knows when these two guys are going to fight? If Lorenz keeps winning, I think he?s next to have a clear shot to a title.?

Larkin is currently riding a three fight winning streak, last defeating former welterweight champion Andrey Koreshkov at Bellator 229. The UFC veteran has previously challenged for the Bellator Welterweight Championship, losing to then champion Douglas Lima by unanimous decision at Bellator 180

There is no time frame yet as to when Larkin will get that potential title shot, as the MacDonald versus Lima bout takes place on Saturday Night.
