Diego Sanchez is fighting Jake Matthews this weekend at UFC 253 and the fighter will do so with fellow TUF alumni Stephan Bonnar in his corner.
Sanchez, who already has Joshua Fabia in his corner, told James Lynch that Bonnar will now serve as a second cornerman.
“The world and the universe goes full circle,” Sanchez said (via Nolan King of MMA Junkie). “We came full circle. This is my boy and he’s going to be supporting me (and) helping me. I’ve got another cornerman.”
Bonnar, who has been inactive as a professional MMA fighter in the last five-plus years, has dabbled in professional wrestling in the last few years. The two fighters came together again after Bonnar accepted an offer from Sanchez to go searching for UFO’s in New Mexico and Bonnar apparently saw some UFO’s in that time.
“Beyond a shadow of a doubt (I saw UFOs),” Bonnar said. “Was I under the influence of psychedelics? Yes, but I definitely saw bright lights moving around.”
UFC 253 takes place on Saturday, September 26 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
