Stephen Thompson called out Leon Edwards earlier today on Twitter, but he wound up on the other side of a call out, courtesy of Khamzat Chimaev.
Everything began when Thompson, who was making his first call out ever, called out Edwards on Twitter:
“All due respect @Leon_edwardsmma, which I have a lot of for you, I have been saying I would like to fight you for a while now!” Thompson posted. “It makes sense and would be a great match up. I think that was my first Twitter call out ever. man that felt weird. #FirstTimeForEverything”
Before Edwards even replied to the call out from Edwards, Chimaev would shoot his shot and call out Thompson on Twitter:
“We fighting next. Let’s go, leave Leon alone.”
Thompson has yet to respond to Chimaev, who is 3-0-0 under the UFC banner and is coming off of a one punch knockout win over Gerald Meerschaert at UFC Vegas 11.
