Stipe Miocic Says He Should Get First Brock Lesnar Fight

Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar recently became a free agent, fueling rumors of a potential UFC return, and UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is interested in fighting him.

Miocic recently stated that he should be the first person to fight Lesnar, if Lesnar returns to the UFC, or at the very least, be offered the fight before anyone else.

“A hundred percent I think so,” Miocic said on Believe You Me (via Nick Baldwin of The Score). “If anything, I would get the Brock Lesnar fight first or be asked first. I didn’t know [Jon Jones] called the shots. I didn’t know that.”

UFC President Dana White has previously stated that he’d be interested in booking Lesnar against former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, assuming both fighters are interested in facing each other.

The heavyweight champion, before a potential bout with Lesnar can take place, will first have to deal with a second fight against Francis Ngannou, which is expected to happen later this year or in early 2021.
