Stipe Miocic Says He Would’ve Already Retired Daniel Cormier If It Weren’t For An Eye Injury

MMA

UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic and former two division UFC champion Daniel Cormier have fought twice before, with DC winning at UFC 226 and Miocic winning at UFC 241.

There has been talk of a third fight between Miocic and Cormier for awhile now, but an eye injury that the champion suffered at UFC 241 has kept him out of the Octagon since.

Miocic, in a Twitter post, is stating that he would’ve already beaten DC for a second time and retired Cormier if it weren’t for the eye injury:

The UFC Heavyweight Champion had previously stated that he may not compete until the coronavirus pandemic ends, as Miocic is also a firemen in the state of Ohio.

Dana White had previously hinted that Miocic could be stripped of the heavyweight title, but no official decision has been made at this time. Cormier has also stated, after this past weekend’s UFC 249 card, that a bout with Francis Ngannou for the potentially vacant UFC Heavyweight Title could go down.
