Stipe Miocic Says His Family Would Kill Him For Attacking A Bus

MMA

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and friends attacked a bus full of UFC competitors days before UFC 223, allegedly trying to get at UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic has yet to attack any buses, but the champ’s family would kill him for such an action.

“Yeah, I would never do that. Like, to that point. I understand that he was trying to back his boy up, but also I understand you can’t be doing that,” Miocic said on Get Up. “People got hurt. I’m constant, I’m always doing the right thing, that’s the way I was raised. And if I did that, honestly, my mom would destroy me. My wife would kill me. Like, who do you think you are? I would never do anything like that, I would just be who I am. I would do it a different way.”

McGregor did turn himself into the authorities for the attack and could face future legal issues, but the UFC has yet to punish the fighter for what happened.

Miocic has his focus on the upcoming bout against UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 226, who the title holder is concerned about.

“There’s a lot of concerns with Daniel,” Miocic said. “He’s an amazing fighter, he’s fought heavyweight before. He’s undefeated actually at heavyweight, but he hasn’t fought heavyweight in a while and he hasn’t fought anyone like me yet.”

UFC 226 takes place on Saturday, July 7 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
