Terry Flanagan's next fight has been announced and will join a couple of other British stars on an MTK Global card in July.
Flanagan will fight on the July 12 MTK Global show that will also feature former super middleweight titleholder Rocky Fielding and middleweight contender Martin Murray in action.
Can’t wait to get back to it, it will be over 15 months since I’ve boxed in front of my own fans I’m looking forward to putting a show on. pic.twitter.com/7HMtJPGJvi— Terry Flanagan (@terryflanagan5) May 27, 2019
The 29-year-old Flanagan recently signed with MTK Global to a management deal, joining the aforementioned boxers who have also signed with the company. Flanagan is coming off two consecutive losses, the first one being against Maurice Hooker for the WBO junior welterweight title. Afterwards, Flanagan then entered the World Boxing Super Series 140-pound tournament where he lost to Regis Prograis in the first round.
Flanagan once held the WBO lightweight title from 2015 to 2017 with his title reign starting with a win over Jose Zepeda. Flanagan would go on to defend his title five times before vacating the belt to move up in weight.
No opponent was named for Flanagan's in-ring return, as is the case with Fielding and Murray. The card, which will be streamed on ESPN+ in the United States, will be headlined by Jazza Dickens vs. Nathaniel May for the IBF European featherweight title.
