Three Fights Added To UFC 253, Diego Sanchez In Action

A three-pack of fights have been added to UFC 253, including the return of Diego Sanchez.

Sanchez vs. Jake Matthews, Shane Young vs. Nate Landwehr, and Brad Riddell vs. Alex Da Silva join the stacked lineup for UFC 252. All three bouts were announced today by the UFC AUS/NZ Twitter page.

Sanchez (30-12-0) has won three of his last four in the UFC, with those wins coming over Craig White, Mickey Gall and a disqualification over Michel Pereira. Matthews (16-4-0) enters the bout riding a two-fight winning streak, defeating Rostem Akham and Emil Meek.

Young (13-4-0) has won two of three in the UFC thus far. He beat the duo of Rolando Dy and Austin Arnett. Landwehr (14-3-0) is looking to build off the momentum of his first UFC win over Darren Elkins at UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Harris.

Riddell (8-1-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, picking up wins over Jamie Mullarkey and Magomed Mustafaev. Da Silva (21-2-0) has one sole UFC victory over Rodrigo Vargas at UFC Fight Night Uruguay.

UFC 253 takes place on Saturday, September 26. A UFC middleweight title fight between Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa will headline the card. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
