Three UFC Fighters Suspended, Fined For Cannabis Violations

Four UFC fighters have been suspended and fined by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, three of them for cannabis.

Jamahal Hill, Tim Elliott, Luis Peña and Deron Winn were all suspended and fined on Thursday, according to ESPN's Marc Raimondi. Hill, Elliot and Peña all tested positive for cannabis; meanwhile, Winn tested positive for amphetamines.

Elliott and Peña were each suspended four-and-a-half months and fined 15 percent of their fight purse. The reduced suspensions were due to their fights being taken on short notice. Peña lost to Khama Worthy on June 27 and Elliot lost to Brandon Royval on May 30.

Hill was suspended six months and 15 percent of his fight purse. His May 30 win against Kildson Abreu has been overturned to a no-contest.

Winn, the only member of the quartet to test positive for something other than cannabis, was suspended nine months and fined $1,800 following his March 7 loss to Gerald Meerschaert.
