Tito Ortiz Says The UFC Didn’t Give Him A Fair Shot Against Chuck Liddell

MMA

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz recently announced that he is coming out of retirement to fight former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell for a third time later this year.

Ortiz fought Liddell the first two times under the UFC banner, but believes the promotion didn?t make things fair in those encounters.

?Tito Ortiz vs. Chuck Liddell III, the fight that all the fans wanted to see for the longest time and never got a chance to,? Ortiz said to TMZ Sports. ?I never got a fair shake when I was with the UFC against Chuck, any of the times I ever fought against him. Let?s do it under a different promotion. Let?s do it under Golden Boy Promotion. He has a great background in promoting fights, some of the biggest fights in the world, and he bit on it, hook, line, and sinker. He?s in. Let?s see if we can make some history here.?

Liddell won the first two meetings against Ortiz, with those victories happening at UFC 47 and UFC 66.

The ?Huntington Beach Bad Boy? knows a time frame for when the third fight will happen, but doesn?t know where the two will fight at.

?I?m not exactly at the point where I can say where but when, October or November,? said Ortiz. ?That way we have some time to promote. We?ll do a world tour - kind of go around to talk smack to build up the fight.?

Besides Ortiz, a returning Liddell also announced that he was coming out of retirement for the fight and he?ll be looking for a win for the first time in almost a decade.
