Tito Ortiz Parted Ways With Cyborg Due To Her Boyfriend

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz is back in action this weekend at Combate Americas: Tito vs. Alberto, facing former WWE Champion Alberto El Patron.

The fighter used to be the manager for former UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cyborg, but says that Cyborg’s boyfriend ruined their working relationship.

“I haven’t worked with Cris Cyborg since before the Amanda (Nunes) fight,” Ortiz told James Lynch of The Score (via Steven Rae of The Body Lock). “Her boyfriend, I guess you can say manager also, made some bad decisions for her and I kind of had to step away. I made a lot of mistakes with the UFC, and I tried to keep her from doing the same mistakes.”

Ray Elbe, who is Cyborg’s boyfriend, competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 9 and once claimed to have broken his penis while having wild sex.

All Ortiz hopes for is that Cyborg learns from all the bad choices she is allegedly making with Elbe’s guidance.

“She’s a big girl, and she can make her decisions, but she was making the wrong decisions. Or I could say her boyfriend was making the wrong decisions for her. But that was just my opinion and I wish all the luck to her,” Ortiz said. “I tried to give as much as I possibly could to her, but she just was willing to listen to someone else who hasn’t been in the same shoes that I have been in. I guess everyone learns from mistakes, and hopefully, she’ll learn from the mistakes that she’s made and make a positive reinforcement for the future for her.”

Combate Americas: Tito vs. Alberto takes place on Saturday, December 7 from the Payne Arena in Hidalgo, Texas with Tito Ortiz and Alberto El Patron headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on Fite TV.
