TKO COO Mark Shapiro: If Paramount Acquires WBD, We Like A World Where UFC Is On HBO Or TNT

The future of Warner Brothers Discovery is currently up in the air as Netflix was set to acquire assets, but Paramount came in with a hostile takeover bid.

All three entities have ties to the sports entertainment and combat sports business as AEW is under the WBD umbrella, WWE is tied to Netflix, and UFC is set to begin its deal with Paramount in 2026.

Speaking at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference, TKO COO Mark Shapiro commented on Paramount’s interest in WBD.

“I don’t know how this Netflix thing is going to play out, but if Paramount is able to get that asset, I like a world where [UFC] could potentially live on HBO. I like a world where we could potentially live on TNT. Historically, these are sports destinations. They’ve had their years of carrying premium sports and they’ve shown they can attract an audience for sports, but they can convert an audience for sports,” he said.

AEW content currently lives on TNT and HBO Max with Collision airing on TNT and simulcasting on HBO Max. Dynamite is also simulcast on HBO Max, and fans can order the pay-per-views on HBO Max.
