Tony Ferguson is a former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion and is ranked #1 in the UFC Lightweight Division rankings, meaning he is potentially next in line to fight Nurmagomedov.

Ferguson and Nurmagomedov were set to face off multiple times in their respective UFC tenures, but injuries and the such kept those battles from coming to fruition.
Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor is the only UFC star to actually box Mayweather, suffering a tenth round TKO loss in what was dubbed “The Money Fight.” Nurmagomedov, much like McGregor did, would be making his professional boxing debut against Mayweather if the bout did come to pass.
