A battle of top ten bantamweight has been added to the UFC Fight Night Norfolk card as #8 John Dodson is competing against #10 Marlon Moraes.
The bout was initially reported by Farah Hannoun.
Dodson (19-8-0) has won two of three fights since returning to the bantamweight division, with those wins coming over the duo of Manny Gamburyan and Eddie Wineland. Dodson failed in his two attempts to capture the UFC Flyweight Title, losing to Demetrious Johnson at both UFC On Fox 6 and UFC 191. Dodson also won the UFC Ultimate Fighter 14, defeating former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw in the reality show finals.
Moraes (18-5-1) is currently winless under the UFC banner, having dropped a fight to Raphael Assuncao at UFC 212. Moraes was the first and only World Series Of Fighting Bantamweight Champion, defending the belt five times before signing with the UFC. Prior to signing with the UFC earlier this year, the Brazilian star did defeat a UFC veteran in Miguel Torres.
UFC Fight Night Norfolk takes place on Saturday, November 11 from the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia with Dustin Poirier and Anthony Pettis headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which will air live on Fox Sports 1.
