Top 15 Ranked Heavyweight Competing At UFC 213

A new fight has been added to the upcoming UFC 213 card and it takes place in the heavyweight division as #15 Daniel Omielanczuk faces Curtis Blaydes.

Omielanczuk (19-7-1-1NC) will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak, having dropped those two fights to Tim Johnson and Stefan Struve. Omielanczuk will be competing on his third UFC pay-per-view card, the fighter has a record of 1-1-0 in those past UFC pay-per-view fights. Omielanczuk hasn’t won a fight in just about a years’ time, with his last win coming over Alexey Oleynik at UFC Fight Night 91.

Blaydes (7-1-0) has won two of three fights thus far under the UFC banner, with those two victories coming over the duo of Cody East and Adam Milstead. Blaydes also competed once in the Resurrection Fighting Alliance, defeating Luis Cortez by third round TKO at RFA 35. Blaydes has also competed twice in the Xtreme Fighting Organization, where he defeated Bellator MMA veteran Lorenzo Hood.

UFC 213 takes place on Saturday, July 8 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
