As wrestling fans prepare for WrestleMania 41, the WWE's recent European tour allowed fans in Spain, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Austria, the Netherlands, and the UK to see their favorite stars in action.
But Triple H’s appearance on British TV took a lot of fans by surprise, with many commenting on how bizarre it was.
The Raw, SmackDown, and Road to WrestleMania events took place across March, culminating in the Monday Night Raw show at London's O2 Arena. It was the ideal opportunity for fans to get a look at the biggest names in the WWE and run the rule over their fitness ahead of WrestleMania.
With matches between Jey Uso and Gunther, John Cena and Cody Rhodes, and Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton, fans will enjoy two action-packed evenings at the Las Vegas Allegiant Stadium on April 19th and 20th.
A range of betting markets for the event will also increase the excitement for viewers, with lots of great operators offering odds, including no-verification betting sites that don't require ID and offer big bonuses and fast transactions (source: https://www.techopedia.com/sports-betting/no-verification-betting-sites). At most online sportsbooks, Uso is the huge favorite for the Heavyweight Championship title, with odds of 2/9 (compared to Gunther’s 3/1). Cena is the favorite for the Undisputed Championship at 4/9 (Rhodes 13/8), while the Women’s title is currently almost too close to call with Flair at 4/5 and Stratton at 10/11.
As the UK prepared for the March 31st Monday Night Raw event, Triple H (Paul Michael Levesque) appeared on the Sunday Brunch food and chat show that offers viewers a lighthearted couple of hours on Sunday mornings. However, fans were left baffled by his appearance as he seemed so out of place.
The format includes food prep and interviews, in which all the guests chip in while sitting around a table. But eagle-eyed viewers were quick to post on social media about Triple H and how he appeared bored during much of the show. He was also invited to take part in a potato peeling competition that had viewers in hysterics, with many saying he needed to have a word with his agent.
While guests typically stick around for the entire show, he was noticeably absent from the final two segments of the show after leaving following his interview.
He was joined on the show by former Spandau Ballet singer Tony Hadley, UK comedian and actress Bridget Christie, DJ and TV personality Sara Cox, and soap stars Ryan and Adam Thomas.
As the current WWE Chief Content Officer, Triple H's responsibilities include overseeing live events, creative writing, talent relations, and more, and part of this will be making appearances on TV networks around the world to raise the profile of events.
The European Tour had 12 events in total, bringing the best of the WWE to thousands of European fans. This will undoubtedly have a positive impact on viewer numbers for the pay-per-view event.
Saturday's WrestleMania card will see a triple-threat match take place between Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk, as well as Randy Orton taking on Kevin Owens. The Sunday card will see Cody Rhodes and John Cena battle it out for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
