Julia Budd, Roy Nelson In Action At Bellator 244

Two more fights have been added to the upcoming Bellator 244 card:Julia Budd vs. Jessy Miele, and Roy Nelson vs. Valentin Moldavsky.

Bellator announced both bouts today through their Twitter page.

Budd (13-3-0) is competing for the first time since losing the women’s featherweight title to Cris Cyborg at Bellator 238. Budd defended the title three times before losing it. She had successful defenses coming over Arlene Blencowe, Olga Rubin and Talita Nogueira.

Miele (9-3-0) is undefeated thus far under the Bellator banner, defeating the aforementioned Nogueira by split decision at Bellator 231. Miele has not suffered a defeat in over four years. Her last loss came to Charmaine Tweet at Prestige FC 2.

Nelson (23-18-0) enters the contest riding a four-fight losing streak. He has not picked up a win in almost three years. Nelson competed in the Bellator Heavyweight World Grand Prix, losing in the opening round to Matt Mitrione.

Moldavsky (9-1-0) is undefeated in Bellator competition, picking up wins over Carl Seumanutafa, Ernest James, Linton Vassell and Javy Ayala. Moldavsky has competed 10 times as a professional MMA fighter and six of those bouts went the distance.

Bellator 244 takes place on Friday, August 21 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Ryan Bader and Vadim Nemkov will clash in the main event. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
