The Octagon was back in Vegas for International Fight Week 2019.
UFC 239 was a stacked card with two title fights and top names such as Ben Askren, Luke Rockhold, and newly minted UFC Hall of Famer Diego Sanchez on the undercard. The end result was 18,358 fans packing T-Mobile Arena for a gate of $6,063,707.11.
The last time UFC invaded T-Mobile, the promotion drew 14,790 fans for a gate of $4.03 million for UFC 235 headlined by Jon Jones vs. Anthony Smith in March. Last year's International Fight Week event, UFC 226 headlined by Stipe Miocic taking on Daniel Cormier, drew 17,464 fans for a gate of $5.6 million.
As far as bonuses go, there was no Fight of the Night bonus, but there was four Performance of the Night bonuses. In a surprise to no one, Jorge Masvidal collected a Performance of the Night bonus with his five-second knockout of Ben Askren. Masvidal's win is officially the fastest KO in UFC history.
Amanda Nunes took home a Performance of the Night bonus for her first-round stoppage of Holly Holm in the Womens' Bantamweight Title co-main event. Jan Blachowicz and Song Yadong were the other two Performance of the Night winners. Blachowicz knocked out Luke Rockhold in the second round while Yadong put Alejandro Pérez to sleep in the first.
All four fighters took home an extra $50,000.
