However, much like some other MMA promotions, it would appear that the coronavirus could be affecting this UFC card.
Earlier today, Ohio governor Mike DeWine has recommended that no spectators be allowed to attend indoor sporting events, whether those sports are on the highschool, college and/or professional level.
Ohio Athletic Commission executive director Bernie Profato issued the following statement to MMA Junkie about the upcoming UFC Fight Night Columbus event:
?Any issues will go through the Governor?s office and will be enforced by the Athletic Commission. We have not (sat) down with the UFC to discuss any alternatives yet.?
There has been no comment yet from the UFC as to the status of UFC Fight Night Columbus, but UFC President Dana White did say the promotion was concerned about the coronavirus.
UFC Fight Night Columbus takes place on Saturday, March 28 from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio with Francis Ngannou and Jairzinho Rozenstruik headlining, Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
