UFC fighters Jon Jones, Francis Ngannou and many more are paying tribute to the death of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman.
Boseman's death caught the world by surprise. The beloved actor — whose resume includes acclaimed portrayals of Jackie Robinson, James Brown and Thurgood Marshall — had privately been dealing with colon cancer for four years. Boseman died on Friday, August 28 at his home in Los Angeles, California with family by his side. See how fighters honored the renowned actor.
I’m a grown man now, but I never had superheroes that I remember looking up to. Chadwick Boseman was my Superhero when I watched @blackpanther ---- He seemed like a great man and gave a lot of hope and inspiration to young black children. RIP @chadwickboseman! - As my coach told me in between rounds of my fight, “SHOW THE WORLD WHO YOU ARE!!” ------ • #BlackPanther #ChadwickBoseman #21Bridges #Icon #42 #GetOnUp #JamesBrown #JackieRobinson #Avengers #KingTChalla ・・・ It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV. A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther. He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side. The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time. Photo Credit: @samjonespictures
