UFC Flyweight Says Justin Scoggins Needs To "Figure Out His Life"

MMA

Justin Scoggins let a lot of people down ahead of UFC 201, and UFC Flyweight Luis Smolka knows it.

The top-10 ranked Flyweight Smolka is fresh off of a July victory over Ben Nguyen. Immediately after the fight, Smolka offered to fight at UFC 201, something that would have ended up being pretty handy, as Justin Scoggins was scratched from his bout with ian McCall. When speaking to FloCombat recently, Smolka didn't mince words about the situation.

"Scoggins needs to like figure his life out dude," Smolka said. "The biggest insult to me is that his saying that its all Ian's fault because Ian doesn't want to fight him at 135lbs. He's the one that broke the contract, this fight is on you -- it's your fault.

Scoggins withdrew from the fight with McCall over 12 hours before the weigh-in deadline, with only 6.5 pounds to cut when he stopped sweating. McCall was, however, paid his show and win bonus. Still, Smolka thinks Scoggins' unprofessionalism is unacceptable.

"He's the one that needs to man-up and take it on the chin. Make the weight, do what you gotta do and just try being a professional. He said he could make the weight and he didn't do it. Cut and dry that is what it is, I'm baffled by his behaviour," said Smolka.
