UFC Parent Company Launches Coronavirus Podcast

MMA

Endeavor, who is the UFC’s parent company, will try to help those affected by the coronavirus pandemic as the organization has launched a podcast about the virus. The podcast is going to be called “Making The Call” and it is going to be hosted by Dr. Zeke Emanuel (who is the brother of Endeavor’s Ari Emanuel) and Dr. Jonathan Moreno.

The description for the podcast says:

Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler Officially Announced For UFC 303, Will Take Place At Welterweight

“As our policy makers, medical experts, and first responders grapple with the choices forced upon us by the novel Coronavirus, doctors and hosts Dr. Zeke Emanuel and Dr. Jonathan Moreno will guide us on the codes of ethics that are the backbone of modern medicine. They will answer the key questions raised by COVID – 19 including “How do we decide who gets a ventilator?”  “Who, if anyone, can force you to stay home in the interest of public health” and “When there’s a vaccine, who will get it first?”. Join the “architect of the Affordable Care Act” and “the quietly most interesting bioethicist of our time” as they interrogate critical thinking in a time of crisis and show us what it means to be the ones MAKING THE CALL.”

Dr. Emanuel has already spoken out publicly about the coronavirus pandemic, saying that large public gatherings won’t be taking place until the Fall of 2021.

“Restarting the economy has to be done in stages, and it does have to start with more physical distancing at a work site that allows people who are at lower risk to come back,” Emanuel told the New York Times (via Karim Zidan of Bloody Elbow). “Certain kinds of construction, or manufacturing or offices, in which you can maintain six-foot distances are more reasonable to start sooner. Larger gatherings — conferences, concerts, sporting events — when people say they’re going to reschedule this conference or graduation event for October 2020, I have no idea how they think that’s a plausible possibility. I think those things will be the last to return. Realistically we’re talking fall 2021 at the earliest.”

There are already three episodes done in the podcast, with the latest dropping earlier today.
