UFC Signs Deal To Run Events In Singapore Over The Next 3 Years

The UFC has run events in many countries in the two-plus decades they have existed and Singapore is one of the many places the promotion has been.

It was announced by the UFC that the promotion is now going to be running events in Singapore for the next three years, as a deal has been made between the UFC and the country itself.

This June’s UFC Fight Night Singapore event is the first of the three shows to be a part of that deal, with Donald Cerrone and Leon Edwards in the main event spot. The entire event will also be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass, a start time and the card order has yet to be announced.

UFC Vice President, Asia Pacific’s Kevin Chang wants to see the promotion continue to build their presence in the country.

“After evaluating the success of our events last year, the appetite from our partners and rapidly growing MMA fan base, we feel it is the right time to make the Lion City a regular, annual stop on our live events calendar,” Chang stated in a press release. “Singapore is home to Southeast Asia’s biggest and most talked-about events and remains a key market for us. We look forward to building on our growth from 2017, as we bring fans in this region even closer to world class MMA.”

UFC Fight Night Singapore takes place on Saturday, June 23 from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore with Donald Cerrone and Leon Edwards headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
